Based in Harbin, China Sky One Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Market: CSKI) manufactures, markets and distributes branded Chinese medicine mainly for external use. Through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Harbin Tian Di Ren Medical Science and Technology Company (¡°TDR¡±), Harbin First Bio-Engineering Company Limited (¡°First¡±), Heilongjiang Tianlong Pharmaceutical, Inc. (¡°Tian long¡±) and Peng Lai Jin Chuang Company Pharmaceutical Company (¡°Jin Chuang¡±), the Company manufactures and distributes around 90 pharmaceutical products, including traditional Chinese medicines, western medicines, diagnostic kits and cosmetics. These products are made with different formulations, such as creams, ointments, powders, sprays, injections and medicated skin patches. The Company¡¯s leading products include Sumei Slim patch for weight loss, anti-hypertension patches for high blood pressure, compound camphor cream for treating dermatitis, and other drops and ointments. In China, the ¡°Kang Xi¡± trademark is well known for high quality and value. The Company¡¯s distribution network covers 22 provinces and 125 municipalities in the PRC. China Sky One Medical distributes its products through third party distributors and direct selling to approximately 4500 retail stores and hospitals. Additionally, the Company exports its products to over 20 countries and regions including the US, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The Company has three products: AMI Diagnostic Kit, Human Urinary Albumin Elisa Kit and Early Pregnancy Diagnostic Kit that passed the final stages of national inspection in 2006 or 2007. In addition, the Company is aggressively building its pipeline by developing nine additional diagnostic kits, with its intellectual property called Anti-body preparation. Six of these kits utilize the Company¡¯s enzyme linked gold colloid technique and are designed to detect different types of cancer, including uterine, cervical, liver and breast cancer in people over 40 years of age.
The Company conducts its own R&D activities and collaborates with research institutes in China. It established a gene medicine laboratory with Harbin Medical University, a cell laboratory with North East Agricultural University, and a monoclonal antibody laboratory with Jilin University. It is now focused on the development of biological diagnostic kits, cord blood stem cell research and the development of anti-cancer drug, Endothelin-1.
